Has anyone ever had their gall bladder removed for polyps and sludge?

I have polyps and sludge but no gall stones. have had keel me over type pain that has been going on for 3 yrs, but getting more frequent to the point that I cannot even stand up straight!! my bileruben levels are crazy, I do not have ulcers or anything else wrong in that area causing the pain but the doc still does not want to remove it even though the pain is almost constant now.
